Construction Alert: Overnight Bridge Work Coming To Needham

NEEDHAM, MA — Some overnight bridge maintenance will be taking place over the next two weeks in Needham and Newton. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will be working on the bridge that spans Highland Avenue in Needham and Needham Street in Newton located over the Charles River. The work will be confined to weeknights from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning starting March 8 through March 19. Electrical duct banks will be installed across the bridge and one lane will be closed during work hours. Work is dependent on the weather. MassDOT encourages drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to minimize delays. Those traveling through the area should expect delays and should reduce speed and use caution.
