Next Malden Superintendent To Be Named This Month

MALDEN, MA — The Malden School Committee is expected vote on the next superintendent of schools March 15. The Screening Committee last month selected three finalists from a pool of 37 candidates. Dr. Margo Ferrick, deputy superintendent of the Southbridge Public Schools; Lori Gallivan, executive director of Curriculum, Instruction and Accountability for the Winthrop Public Schools; and Ligia Noriega-Murphy, assistant superintendent on assignment as the K-8 Jackson Mann Principal in the Boston Public Schools, are up for the role. Superintendent John Oteri is not seeking a contract renewal at the end of the school year, Mayor Gary Christenson announced at the Nov. 23 School Committee meeting.
