'Dangerous Motorist Activity' Reported In Beverly: Police

BEVERLY, MA —A rash of "dangerous motorist activity" — including failure to stop for stopped school buses and school transport vans — has been reported in Beverly in recent weeks. Beverly police said the reports have come in several locations throughout the city from residents and concerned parents. Drivers are reminded that any vehicle with the words "school bus" on it and which has rear alternating for flashing lights requires oncoming traffic to stop when it is boarding or deboarding. Drivers should not proceed until the warning lights have been turned off. The fine for a first offense is $250 and subsequent violations can lead to a $2,000 fine per incident and driver's license suspension.
