LAKELAND, FL — Lakeland High School and Harrison School for the Arts have been taken off heightened security after law enforcement officers found nothing after they conducted a thorough search of both campuses. Original Patch Story: Lakeland High School and Harrison School for the Arts received bomb threats Thursday from an unknown person via the telephone, the Lakeland Police Department said. Both locations were placed on lockdown earlier, but were most recently reported by police to be on heightened security as officers search the campuses. Teachers and students are safe as deputies make extra searches for precautionary measures, according to a news release. Students are being kept up-to-date on the investigation. School will be released at regular dismissal time, and parents picking up their children can expect to see a heavy police presence due to the circumstances, Lakeland Police Department told Patch. Police ask that parents not visit the school until class is dismissed.
