Description
ATTLEBORO, MA — A house fire on Thatcher St. in Attleboro left two people without a home and the house becoming completely ruined.
According to the Attleboro Fire Department, the homeowner was cooking and got distracted which led to the fire on Feb. 23rd.
The closest fire hydrant was not working correctly which resulted in the Fire Department being at the scene for 3 hours putting out the fire.
Wednesday morning the Fire Department tried to figure out why the fire hydrant was not working per usual and they came to the consensus that the water in the hydrant could have frozen and the hydrant itself was also an older one.
The two were able to make it out of the burning house safely and The American Red Cross has been contacted to help aid and support the people who were displaced.
