CLASS CHARACTERISTICS This position is responsible for maintaining varied and continuous warehouse operations. Incumbents perform a wide range of warehouse functions including but not limited to: Physically handling of specified materials; operate full range of material handling equipment to lift and move loads; prepare a variety of materials for transportation and provides assistance in the loading of materials while operating a forklift; retrieves varied material for inventory, shipment, or repackaging; conducts basic inspections of received materials and confirms products with invoices; operates and perform operational maintenance of warehouse equipment; operates material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and fork lift in a safe and acceptable manner; record and maintain accurate inventory records. Example of Duties: Receive and load grass, pallets of sand, and other related materials; cut grass to desired specifications; maintain a clean workspace and warehouse; safely operate a forklift; maintain accurate of products being received and leaving the warehouse. Typical Qualifications: LICENSE (desired) Possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License and good Driving record QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: - Synthetic grass installation process; - Materials and applications for them; Ability to: - Perform work with dexterity and safety - Provide basic product information - Maintain an orderly and clean work environment - Operate a fork lift and additional heavy machinery safely and proficiently - Write legibly - Perform basic mathematics - Maintain records according to the Standard Operations Procedures - Operate a vehicle performing legal and defensive driving practices - Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacting in the course of work EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and ability would be: at least one year of experience where regular forklift operations was required, and education is equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Supplemental Information: PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Physical effort: Required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time; lift and carry material that weigh up to 50 pounds; heavier materials will be moved with the assistance of weight handling equipment. Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed inside of the warehouse while loading and unloading may take place outside. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
