On Monday, March 8, Colfax Avenue from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Niles Avenue will close for five weeks to construct underground infrastructure for various projects in the vicinity. The projects contributing to this closure include the:
– Rehabilitation of a lift station at Sycamore Street and Colfax Avenue
– Installation of a sanitary sewer line for the Commerce Center development
– Installation of an underground electric duct bank.
Detour routes are Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard or Niles Avenue via LaSalle Avenue. The street is expected to reopen Friday, April 9.
