Press release from Go Green Northbrook:
March 5, 2021
Do you ever think about the areas of your life where you could minimize your environmental impact? One simple way is to turn off your car engine when it is not actively being used! Go Green Northbrook is promoting a No-Idling campaign starting March 17th. Our goal is to minimize excess CO2 emissions and keep our air as clean as possible.
During the Covid-19 crisis, we have shown our community's restaurants and businesses an overwhelming amount of support by ordering pick-up and deliveries orders. As we continue to support our community, we should be conscious of the negative impact that our vehicles emissions have. Look for our bright yellow No-Idling signs throughout the village. By choosing to turn off the engine, not only are you lowering your fuel costs and engine maintenance costs, but you're also decreasing harmful carbon emissions.
We are asking all visitors and residents to participate in the No-Idling campaign by turning off engines when they are not driving: · waiting for pick-up and delivery orders· waiting to pick up children from school and activities· carry a blanket to keep warm while waiting in your vehicle
As a community, we have the power to minimize our carbon footprint by engaging in the No-Idling campaign and spreading awareness to our friends and neighbors. We hope to see you join us.
Contact Celine at [email protected] to have your business or school be a of the campaign.
