Chris Potter is one of the best jazz musicians on the planet and he will be joining the 18 members of the SC JAZZ Masterworks Ensemble. The SC Jazz Masterworks Ensemble Returns with Chris Potter. Seating will be limited to 1/3 capacity and the first 150 tickets sold. Social distancing and protocols, masks, etc. will be in place. The SC Jazz Masterworks Ensemble is comprised of eighteen of the finest jazz musicians, soloists, and bandleaders from across the Carolinas and their mission is to present jazz concerts at the highest artistic level. With this many amazing musicians, the musical possibilities are almost unlimited. World class solo artist Chris Potter has emerged as a leading light of his generation. Down Beat magazine called him “One of the most studied (and copied) saxophonists on the planet” and Jazz Times identified him as “a figure of international renown.” Potter’s impressive discography includes 16 albums as a leader, as well as sideman appearances on more than 100 albums. He has performed or recorded with many of the leading names in jazz and will be performing here with the Jazz Masterworks Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Robert Gardiner.
