Description
LISLE, IL — One person is dead and two people were hurt in a fiery crash on westbound I-88 in Lisle Thursday morning. The crash was reported at 10 a.m., just east of Naperville Road.
When emergency crews got to the scene, they found a semi and an SUV heavily consumed in fire. Two people were able to escape and were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries. A passenger in the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash shut down all westbound lanes on I-88 as Illinois State Police conducted an investigation. All but one of the westbound lanes had been reopened as of 1:30 p.m., according to Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Steve Demas.
