PHILADELPHIA — Charges have been filed against a Philadelphia man who authorities say is a member of a right-wing extremist group for allegedly harassing a woman last year.
The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office Thursday said Kyle Boell, 40, of Philadelphia has been arrested for harassment and online threats made against a woman in late 2020.
Boell has been charged with terroristic threats and harassment.
A self-described member of right-wing extremist group the Proud Boys, Boell is accused of using the Twitter account @TATTEDASSHOLE80 to send harassing messages and threats to the woman from Nov. 8, 2020, through Nov. 15, 2020.
Authorities allege Boell sent dozens of harassing messages regarding the woman's weight and appearance, and made explicit references to sexual activity and intimate body parts.
Boell sent the woman threatening messages, saying he urinated on her business, said he was "a ghost," and said he hoped to see her in an apparent threat, the DA's office said
Other messages he is accused of sending include "Antifa is done in Philly;" "U and [redacted] r done in Philly pack ur bag;" and "was really nice meeting u last night glad u got to meet some of the PHILLY-CHAPTEROF THE PROUD BOYS," among other vulgar language.
Court records show Boell pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person in 1999 stemming from a September 1998 incident. He was sentenced to a maximum of 23 months in prison.
