Former Restaurateur Arrested In Florida On Forgery, Drug Charges

DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA — A former Upper Makefield restaurateur set to face trial in Bucks County in April was arrested on new charges in Florida on Thursday. Andrew Abruzzese, 37, was arrested by the Delray Beach Police Department on charges of forgery, possessing counterfeit credit cards and cocaine possession, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Abruzzese, whose family owns the popular Pineville Tavern, is already facing criminal charges in Bucks County stemming from an incident on Feb. 4, 2020, in which he shot a pellet gun at two occupied homes in Solebury, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said. Two adults and two children were home at the time of the shooting, authorities said. The homeowners later told police Abruzzese was a former friend with whom they had a falling out. Abruzzese is set to face trial in that case on April 13, according to court documents. The charges filed in Thursday's Delray Beach arrest include possessing a forged driver's license or ID card; possessing counterfeited credit cards; illegally using credit cards; cocaine possession; and drug equipment possession.
