Description
EAST BAY, CA — The California Highway Patrol's Dublin office reported nabbing two drivers, in two consecutive days, driving faster than 100 mph.
The first report came Monday morning, after CHP apparently stopped a driver going 113 mph:
"I just wanted to see how long my new commute will take..."Huh? At 113 mph? pic.twitter.com/cUPZ4kn4PT— CHP Dublin Area (@CHPDublin) March 2, 2021 And the second report came Tuesday morning, after CHP stopped a driver going 147 mph on Interstate Highway 580.
The California Vehicle Code defines reckless driving as driving on a highway "in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property."
CHP said last spring that far more drivers had received speeding tickets as the pandemic brought people to work from home, freeing highways and freeways of commuters.
