DOYLESTOWN, PA — Students, staff and faculty at Linden Elementary School gave one of their longtime employees a big sendoff Thursday as he enters retirement.
Don Wilson, a facilities specialist at the school and a district employee for more than four decades, is retiring this week after a long and fruitful career.
The school hosted a parade for him Thursday morning, with students, teachers and staff lining up around the school building to clap for their beloved friend and co-worker.
Wilson sat in a trailer attached to a tractor driven by Linden Elementary School Principal Mike Testani, who was dressed in his "Linden Leopard' costume.
"Central Bucks' facility staff like Don Wilson have played a critical role in the district's ability to keep its schools open for in-person instruction this year, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic," the district said in a statement. "The district's highly trained facilities and energy management operations staff clean and disinfect classrooms and other high traffic areas throughout the day in line with the procedures and protocols outlined within the district's health and safety plan – maintaining safe, healthy environments for students and staff."
