ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a neighbor dispute, a fence fire, warrants, DUIs and driving violations. Here are the latest Elmhurst police reports: Neighbor dispute A resident in the 300 block of West Commonwealth Lane told police that a neighbor walked by and made an inappropriate comment to him Tuesday. The neighbor said he was upset and felt like he was being harassed by the other person. Fence fire Firefighters responded to a fire about 7 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of North York Street. A fence in a back yard was on fire. A police officer escorted the occupants out of the house. The fire was put out. Warrants Shannon M. Dunlavy, 27, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Monday on a DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, officers came into contact with Dunlavy when someone else in the location had been pronounced dead.Heather Gillespie, 34, of Chicago, was arrested about 5 p.m. Tuesday on a Lombard Police Department warrant. She was released to the Lombard department. DUI Ethan Berrera, 24, of Plainfield, was arrested about 8 p.m. Tuesday on charges of DUI (drugs), unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, and driving with a suspended license. He was released on bond.Daniel Brotschul, 47, of Chicago, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles and Fair on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, speeding and improper lighting. He was released on bond. Driving violations Shannant Hamilton, 27, of Wheaton, was cited about 9 p.m. Tuesday at Villa and Roosevelt on charges of no valid driver's license, speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and illegal transportation of open alcohol. He was released on bond. Tatyana Porter, 20, of Berwyn, was cited about 3 p.m. Wednesday at North and Melrose on charges of no valid driver's license and expired registration. She was released on bond. Stolen car A police officer tried to stop the driver of a stolen car about 11 p.m. Wednesday at Lake and Grand. The driver sped away, last seen heading north on Route 83. The car was stolen in Chicago. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt.
