Description

Press release from the City of Golden Valley: March 4, 2021 Golden Valley Boards and Commissions are advisory bodies to the City Council, charged with the responsibility of researching, reviewing, and making recommendations on related issues. Currently, more than 55 Golden Valley residents volunteer their time to serve the community. In a world where people can volunteer anywhere, we asked "Why for the City of Golden Valley?" Ron Blum, Planning Commission "I serve on the Planning Commission because it is interesting, significant, and a great public service. What we do on commissions and boards helps to shape our community for years to come." Amber Alexander, Rising TIDES Task Force "I have learned so much about city government by serving on this Task Force. I feel more connected to the decisions the City Council is making and feel invested in the community's success. In addition to what I've gained, I enjoy using my skills and experiences in a forum outside of my day job." Join A City Board Or Commission Nearly every year each City advisory board or commission has at least one opening and the City encourages all residents apply. You must be a resident of Golden Valley to apply; however, applications for the Golden Valley Human Services Commission are also accepted from Golden Valley business and community organization members.
