Join us for a Winter Woodland Walk on the newly constructed Meditation Trail in the Chadwick Preserve at Long Point in Rose Valley.
Dr. Roger Latham, a local expert on plant community restoration, will guide participants through a variety of habitats from ridgetop oak forest to a floodplain pawpaw patch, and explain ongoing restoration projects. Hikers will also learn about plans to build future trail connections all while enjoying spectacular views of the Ridley Creek Valley. Roger will share stories about the local human history, from the early beaver pelt trade along the Minquas Path to the establishment of the Rose Valley Arts and Crafts community. Our short (3/4 mile) walk will be steep at times. Please bring sturdy shoes, appropriate outerwear, your own water bottle and mask. We will provide light refreshments.
