Duties of the Shop Assistant/Quality Control specialist
1st priority- Check in vehicles upon arrival. Perform the Initial Walk around procedure taking all the necessary photos and notes, then dispatching to the appropriate technician.
2nd priority- Quality control, Prepare vehicles for departure. Includes popping hood checking for anything left behind or loose, washing all exterior windows, washing interior front windows, vacuuming front area, cleaning dash and door panels. Place CoAuto candy in dash area. Park outside for client arrival, dispatch to appropriate service advisor.
3rd priority- Parking lot management. We have a small lot so making it easy for clients and technicians to move about the parking lot. Clearing areas to move into and out of the garage. Opening up the parking spaces nearest the front door for clients for easy access and simplicity in parking.
4th priority- Pick up & delivery of clients and or vehicles, pick up parts, tires, lunches, etc. 5th priority- Shop cleanliness. Making sure garbages and recycling bins are emptied when needed, cleaning shop floors and office floors when necessary, maintaining cleanliness all around in shop with oil bins, coolant containers, shop floors, shop bathroom etc.
6th priority- Learn something, assist technicians. Assist with oil services and minor repairs. This can be performed under the supervision of a technician and/or shop foreman. When other responsibilities are completed you can begin to get hands on with vehicle repairs and maintenance. This is at the Shop Foreman’s discretion.
