Head Chefs Needed For Dinner Party Company
Events
Los Angeles CA
Description
Hey fellow chefs! Please read this whole ad before responding. We're not a catering company, and we're not a private chef company. We're not "tweezer chefs" and we're not only concerned with presentation. We all know and understand the difference between good food and great food. And we only deal in great food. This doesn't mean it's has to have garnishes all over the place and some sexy modern looking sauce design. It does mean that you have excellent technique, finesse and an ability to execute. We can't make exceptions and if you're the right fit, this should get you pumped. We're all ex restaurant professionals and we do high end dinners in peoples homes in LA, and other areas where our clients have second homes. Palm Springs, Joshua Tree etc. We try not do go beyond a 90 minute drive from LA but if the pay is worth it, we'll consider the event. Food and excellent service is the #1 priority. At the same time as we take food and service extremely seriously, we also have fun, there's a ton of flexibility and the pay is excellent. We're more like a One Michelin Star restaurant that cooks in people's homes. Instagram is @miseenplacesf and our website is www.miseenplacesf.com. The role: 1) You MUST have modern restaurant experience. Preferably One Michelin Star or very close. If you don't have this, this is not a fit. Our clients have very high expectations and they have been used to eating at LA's best restaurants, so we cannot drop the ball. 2) You've grown beyond line cook into a role with more responsibility such as Sous Chef, Head Chef, Chef De Cuisine, or you've worked multiple stations and can compose a complete menu from start to finish. 2) We started in San Francisco, and it's worked so well there the last 8+ years that we decided to expand into LA now that the Covid situation appears to be improving. I'm the owner (Dan) and I live in LA now. 3) We need chefs anywhere from 2-10 times per month. 3) Head chefs will be leading the events. Sous Chefs will be supporting the Head Chefs. The events are usually between 8-50 (but with Covid we're doing no more than 15-20) people. When the groups are above 8 people, you will almost always be provided a Sous Chef, unless the prep and cooking is easy. 4) You must and be able to prioritize, work fast and clean, present the food beautifully, and have excellent communication skills. 5) Dependability is a must. We cannot have chefs not showing up or being late since our clients expect a very good experience. Sloppy mistakes or carelessness is not going to work. We do however have fun, and we take excellent care of people that work for us. Head Chefs make anywhere from $375-$800 per event. Sous Chefs make $30-$50 per hour or sometimes a flat rate of $200-$350. If the above describes you: 1) Please send your resume and photos of your food. 2) You must have your own knives and apron. 3) If you do not have a food handlers certification, you must be willing to spend $15 to get one. 4) We can also can include you in our liability insurance for only $50 per year. 5) Owning a car is necessary since LA is huge as you know! 6) If you've read everything, have a look at our website - www.miseenplacesf.com to get a feel for what we do.
