Position Overview: The primary responsibilities of the Porter involve the upkeep of the property in order to enhance and maintain its curb appeal. The Porter will also assist the rest of the staff, as directed, in their efforts to manage the property in an efficient manner. Specific Responsibilities: 1. Performs custodial work within the grounds of the community, offices, garage areas and other building interiors. 2. Typical tasks performed include a combination of the following: 3. Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, using industrial vacuum cleaners. 4. Change common area trash cans (interior & exterior) 5. Trash removal - remove trash/recycling from 9 refuse rooms. 6. Clean refuse room floors. 7. Clean resident lounge, fitness center and elevators. 8. May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. 9. May also remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks. 10. Sanitize Community. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Light Maintenance knowledge a plus Prior experience working as a porter in a hospitality environment. Time Management: Uses his/her time effectively and efficiently; concentrates his/her efforts on the most important priority; adeptly handles several tasks at one. Problem Solving: Breaks down problems into smaller components, understand underlying issues, can simplify and process complex issues, understand the difference between critical details and unimportant facts.
