Biomass Company looking for Heavy Equip Operator to run Tub Grinder and Excavator and have mechanical skills. To start immediately. Pay will be based on experience. Please submit your telephone number when reaching out and/or applying. Operator must have physical strength, excellent hand-eye coordination, endurance for physical work in all climates. Operators must be able to concentrate on assigned tasks and be able to perform duties in an efficient and timely manner while paying extreme attention to detail and safety. The ability to understand and communicate information is essential; The Heavy Equipment Operator will also handle materials and ensure safe and efficient operation of the work area. Responsibilities • Visually inspects tools and equipment for safety and proper operation at the beginning of each shift. Notifies supervisor or maintenance of needed repairs or replacements. • Ability to safely and properly operate equipment to produce material for the production process. • Inspects finished material for quality and accuracy and informs supervisor of any non-conformities. • Maintain and use all required personal protective equipment. • Perform other tasks as assigned or needed. Additional Responsibilities • Appropriately disposes of scrap material and waste • Cleans and organizes work area. • Assists with special projects as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications • Must be very dependable and able to work well with others. Must be able to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot any issues. • Ability to reach over and around objects to lift, move, or place objects or materials in designated locations • Ability to understand written or verbal instructions, • Ability to safely work on raised platforms, climb stairs or ladders, and climb off equipment or ladders • Ability to stand for extended periods of time • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, push, pull, and reach both above and below shoulder height • Ability to handle, place, manipulate, operate, stack, and connect equipment and materials. • Ability to verbally communicate with coworkers and supervisors in a safe and productive manner • Ability to work extended shifts to meet business demands as needed Job Type: Full-time Schedule: • 10 hour shift • Day shift • Monday to Friday Work Location: • Mainly our shop (Ashland, VA ), however, once in a while we go off site
