Position: Mechanic The Mechanic is responsible for assisting in the routine maintenance and repair of company vehicles and equipment. Essential Job Functions: • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry 50 pounds of material or equipment. • Ability to stand, kneel and/or bend for a long period of time. • Ability to withstand exposure to outside weather conditions: humidity, rain, hot and cold temperatures. • Ability to see with or without corrective aids. Job Duties and Requirements • Must be able to provide documentation of authorization to work in the United States. • Highly motivated, self-driven, detailed oriented and excellent organizational skills. • Must be professional in appearance and actions. • Maintain good attendance record as well as good punctuality. • Understand and adhere to company/safety policies, proper lifting techniques, and heat stress. • Must have experience in shop and fleet operations. • Computer proficiency required including Microsoft Office product. • Ability to communicate efficiently in oral and written form. • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred. • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening • Must have and maintain a valid state issued driver’s license as well as clear driving record. • Mechanical experience of 3 years minimum. • Experience in routine maintenance and repairs of ½ ton to 1 + tons trucks (Ford / Chevrolet / Isuzu NPRs) and equipment - Vermeer Trenchers, Bobcat Skid Steers and Mini Ex, John Deere Backhoe. • Conduct field inspections of equipment to ensure proactive measures are being done to minimize repairs • Ability to keep accurate and current fleet reports on spreadsheets • Ability to operate, inspect, diagnose and repair machines. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using diagnostic equipment. • Welding and hydraulic experience. • Schedule demands may include early mornings / evenings / weekends. • Perform other duties as assigned.
