Fast pace, growing Shade Structure Manufacturing Company in South Austin is looking for qualified candidates to fill multiple positions. We manufacture steel frames and architectural fabric membranes serving clients nationwide. Candidates must be dependable with a strong work ethic, and must have a GREAT attitude! Our team is ready to grow in all areas- from basic shop level, skilled trade to supervisory in Steel Fabrication, Shipping/Receiving/Hardware, Sewing/Cutting/Patterning, and Office/AutoCAD/Design/Estimating. Modern Shade is about Team Players- multi-tasking, assisting other departments as needed, meeting production schedules, and assuring quality control by following AISC and OSHA Safety Guidelines. • Competitive Compensation DOE • Paid Sick Time and Vacation • Benefits- Health, Dental, Vision Overview of Departments - Positions: Steel Dept- Machine Operators (CNC, Bandsaw), Welders, Fabricators, Material Handlers • Ability to read shop drawings • Must know how to read and use tape measure, calculate measurements • Follow safety guidelines • Fabrication accuracy in fast paced environment • MIG Welding Process • Perform Quality Control • Meet deadlines & maintain production schedule • Routine equipment maintenance • Complete job-related paperwork as required • Keep your station clean & organized – take pride in your work and your work area • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs • Forklift Experience Sewing Dept – Cutters, Sewers, Layout/Patterning • Ability to read shop patterns and layout fabric rolls BEFORE cutting. • Accurately mark, cut, sew and inspect all sewing products according to procedures. • Perform Quality Control checks at every step in the cutting/sewing process to ensure accuracy. • Keep inventory of fabric, webbing and thread materials. • Meet production deadlines. • Perform routine maintenance on sewing equipment. • Complete job related paperwork as required. • Properly prepare and package product for shipping. • Organize, sweep and clean. • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs Shipping/Receiving/Hardware – • Operate fork lift (picking up and moving steel that can reach up to 40' long) • Meet deadlines & maintain production schedule • Ability to read tape measure to the 1/16th • Ability to operate hand tools • Ability to operate band saw, drill press, chop saw, etc. • Inventory management • Routine equipment maintenance • Complete job-related paperwork as required • Properly prepare and package product for shipping (Standard and Long Pallets) • Basic Carpentry Skills • Keep your station clean & organized -- take pride in your work and your work area • Must be able to occasionally lift 60 to 80 lbs Office/AutoCAD/Design/Estimating – • Design and Create Drawings • Process Work Orders • Install Drawings and questions • Packing lists • Renderings • Work with dealers and installers • Freight quotes and coordination of shipments • Hardware orders • Update and maintain logs • Quoting • Sales Support **Please Include Resume with Reply**
