IIA Fire Department Testing, a leading company in the fire safety industry, is looking hire a Pump Technician. The Pump Technician will travel to Fire Department test sites to service pump systems according to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines. Additionally, the Pump Technician will support other associated tasks and duties as required and directed by their supervisor. Responsibilities • Travel independently to Fire Department test sites to service pump systems according to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines • Inspect pumps for defects, identify reasons for malfunction • Review work in progress; check and inspect as necessary for conformance to job and specifications. • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies • Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety • Maintain fire service vehicles with proper testing equipment to promote pump efficiency • Other duties as assigned Qualifications • High school diploma or GED • Fire Fighter related experience is preferred • Ability to tow a 28 ft. trailer • Ability to read, understand and follow strict safety procedures • Strong mechanical aptitude. • Computer skills (i.e. emailing, uploading photos, Dropbox, etc.) • Clean driving record • Must have clear communication skills Working Conditions • Must be able to work some weekends and travel to customer sites as needed • Must be able to tow a 28 ft. trailer Physical Requirements • Must be able to lift heavy fire equipment
