Give us a call and build a great future with McGuire's!! 1+ year experience preferred The Irrigation Technician/Repair is responsible for field activities in the irrigation division and the support thereof to deliver the desired customer service experience. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention, and increases profitability. !!Candidates with plumbing experience should call to inquire due to transferable skill sets!! This position reports to the Irrigation Manager. Responsibilities, requirements, duties, and details of this position include but are not limited to the following: The Irrigation Specialist is responsible for installation, removal and troubleshooting of both residential and commercial irrigation systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Proper installation of irrigation lines, valves, and computerized timers. - Removal of existing irrigation systems, and recovery of any salvageable parts. - Performance of irrigation system inspections, and submitting proposals for repairs and or alterations which are recommended. - Troubleshooting existing system issues, including computerized timer errors and system performance. - Use assigned tools and equipment in proper/safe manner. - Load and unload work trucks and trailers. - Demonstrate proficiency in the use and maintenance of following tools and equipment; push spreader, push aerator, backpack sprayers, sod cutter and other equipment as necessary. - Be able to identify by common names 25 frequently used plants, and be able to identify their watering requirements. - Be able to identify the various watering needs of common turf types. - Recognize plant material and turf areas in stress or in a problem state. - Perform all other duties, as assigned. Requirements- -Clean driving record with a valid driver's license Qualifications- - Demonstrate experience with and knowledge of both residential and commercial irrigation systems. - Demonstrate a solid work history with evidence of strong work ethic and initiative. - Possess a valid Florida driver's license and qualify for coverage under company auto policy. - Ability to demonstrate communication skills necessary to perform residential service calls, to include; the use of communication devices such as cell phones for email and text messaging, handwritten notes to both customers and office staff, daily interactions with customers and office staff relative to service requests and concerns, and daily response to telephone inquiries. - Possess and maintain a physical fitness level necessary to complete assigned job tasks including; operation of light-duty equipment, lifting in excess of 50 lbs, and walking yards of varying size for the duration of the workday. - Ability to interact professionally and courteously with both employees and customers. - Capable of meeting company production rates and standards. - A FLORIDA IRRIGATION LICENSE is preferred but not required.
