Dog in need of care

Description

I have a lab mix that needs a re-home. He’s fixed and microchipped. I’ve had him for over 4 years. He is a great dog. He’s around 55 pounds. Great with kids and other animals, as long as he has had time to adjust. He’s house trained, doesn’t chew, and behaves well. I’d love to talk more about the positives, but I need to get to the negatives because this is why I need to get rid of him. He has had a skin condition for a long time and it's been getting worse. I think it’s related to allergies, but I’m not sure. I have gotten him an allergy test ($165) and he is allergic to MANY things. I have him on a special raw meat diet that’s $200 a month. The food helps, but only a little. I also use special shampoos, but he needs multiple baths a week and it’s expensive. His skin has cleared up, but he still loses hair like crazy and smells. He smells like wet dog. It makes our house smell and without the shampoos, multiple baths a week and his expensive food, it only gets worse. I don’t know what else to do and I can’t keep up with him anymore. I love him and he has been a great dog. But financially I can’t do it and I don’t want my kids to deal with the smells. They have complained a lot and as a parent, I don’t want them dealing with it either. I am hoping that someone may have experience or can find a way to help him have a better life. He has been a great family pet, but I can no longer take care of him. I am asking a small re-homing fee of $50. I will include his large kennel, food info, allergy info and anything else I can do to help him get re-homed. For more information please contact Chris at 35two-29three-5seven9nine
