Description

A mixed media Myers School of Art senior exhibition, on display at The Cummings Center's Institute for Human Science and Culture galleries. About this exhibitionAn Abyss of Sunshine centers on the creation of Ancestral realms, figures and mythical universes in futuristic setting; and explores ceremony and how it is a culmination of reaction, intensity, sensation and time. Through the language of collage and mixed media, spaces are created where the Black-figure and viewer can simply rest and exist in our own autonomy. These ceremonial realms highlight the sacred connections between nature and blackness.
