Natural Playgrounds is a customer-oriented firm specializing in the manufacturing of natural play and learning elements that we ship all over the country to child care centers, schools, and communities. We are looking for a Shop Assistant to add to our team! Year-round, full time work in a spacious, well lit woodworking shop means a nice warm place to work in the winter, plenty of fresh air in the summer, and easy hours with a standard work week of Monday-Friday 8-4:30. Right near the river for a quick kayak or swim after work! We have a great crew, a very supportive working environment, and making things for children is very rewarding work! Responsibilities: The shop assistant will be responsible for various duties ranging from assisting our builders in woodworking projects to general clean up and shop maintenance. Some of the week-to-week tasks include: • Assisting builders with construction of products • Disassembling and palletizing orders to get them ready for shipment • Building shipping pallets (we modify existing pallets, if needed) • Organizing, maintaining, and keeping the shop clean • Inventorying lumber and other building materials • Adhering to all safety rules and procedures at all times Qualifications / Requirements: • No experience is necessary but must be willing and able to learn quickly and use small power tools safely. • Familiarity with hand and small power tools is a plus • Able to lift 50 lbs • Must have reliable transportation to work (car, bus, bike...).
