Acme Farms + Kitchen is Hiring! We are looking for motivated, hard working and fun-loving people to join our Warehouse team as a Warehouse Associate. What We Do: We pull together fresh, local, organic produce, meat, and prepared products from independent local companies in order to create easy meals centered around supporting local communities. The heart of our business model is taking the stress and complications out of cooking. We provide pre-portioned ingredients to complete a recipe all from local producers. Our boxes are carefully packed with minimal packaging, and we personally deliver to the customer's doorstep the same day, nothing is ever shipped. Job Description: Warehouse Associates have a hands-on role in assembly line style packing and produce prep. Each day will look a little different in tasks but remarkably similar in the flow of the work. You will count and portion produce to complete customers orders. For example measuring out ⅓ pound of arugula 100 times. This arugula will then go on the pack line and will end up in 100 different customers boxes. Individuals who exhibit flexibility, excellent communication, an ability to take initiative, and can cooperate with their co-workers will find success and enjoyment in this position. Responsibilities: Count/portion fresh produce, grains, frozen meat, and various other items in accordance with customer orders Evaluate quality of produce to meet standards and expectations Learn and perform best way to store, pack and ship all food items going out to customers Responsible for the quality and preciseness of all product/orders Keep a neat and clean work station throughout the day in accordance with food safety guidelines Work both independently and as part of a team to get the job done in a timely manner Everyday cleaning tasks must be completed Requirements: Must be available for morning shift (6am-1pm) or evening shift (12-8pm) Mon-Thur Must have or obtain Washington State Food Handlers Permit before first day of work Ability to communicate effectively Self-Starter Excellent problem-solving skills Ability and desire to work as part of a team Strong capacity to handle changes, and able to adapt in the moment Lift 20lbs consistently, and up to 50lbs occasionally Ability to stand for 8 hours and stay focused on the job at hand (we have anti-fatigue mats, which help considerably) Have a somewhat flexible schedule Willingness and ability to work accurately and efficiently Familiarity with common weight conversion Knowledge of fresh food is highly desirable (i.e. able to tell the difference between cilantro and parsley, cremini and shiitake mushrooms, etc.) COVID-19 Notice: We are very strict about COVID-19 awareness in our warehouse. You must properly wash your hands upon entering the building and record your temperature before starting your shift. Masks are required and strictly enforced.
