Description

When was the last time you got the opportunity to search under live fire in training? During this class students will experience multiple scenarios for searches including first floor, second floor, and basement locations. Students will learn the benefits and drawbacks of oriented searches and Vent-Enter-Search, as well as when to apply each technique. Class will start with a review of search and removal techniques, move to search with theatrical smoke, and end with searches under live fire in the burn building using rescue mannequins as victims. This class is designed for active firefighters who are members of a department and have a working knowledge of search, building construction, fire behavior, and firefighter safety. The ultimate decision to allow students to participate will be made by the lead instructor. ***All student groups will be paired with instructors while performing searches ***Full SCBA and PPE is required and must be within NFPA standards (10 Years from date of manufacture)
