This 8-hour course is designed to teach coordinators to engage patients effectively, present treatment options skillfully, & close the deal. You have to convince patients they need the treatment you recommend. That’s where a skilled Treatment Coordinator comes in! Successfully “selling” doesn’t come naturally to most people; it’s a learned skill that must be taught by an experienced instructor and practiced to perfection. This 8-hour course is designed to teach coordinators how to engage patients effectively, present treatment options skillfully, and ultimately how to “close the deal”. During the class, students will actually present and “sell” treatment plans to mock patients, and be guided on their performance. COURSE OBJECTIVES This training is designed to enhance the Treatment Coordinator’s effectiveness in securing and planning the delivery of oral healthcare services. Course attendees will learn to describe and explain treatment options with patients, define costs associated with different treatment plans, propose and plan a treatment schedule with the patient, and formulate payment plans with patient. ABOUT THE TRAINERS JENNIFER AGUERO Jennifer spent her childhood in San Bernadino, CA before returning home to San Antonio, TX. After working 10 years as a Lead Dental Assistant, her superb chairside talents and communication skills landed Jennifer a Dental Assistant Instructor position at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW). She later transitioned to private practice where she served in leadership roles including Office Manager and Clinical Director for a large DSO. Jennifer has a degree in Dental Assisting and extensive experience in schedule management, treatment plan acceptance, and staff training. JENNIFER MEDELEZ Born and raised in San Antonio, TX, Jennifer has a high degree of commitment to exceptional performance, process efficiency and outcome accuracy. With over 14 years in the healthcare industry, she has served in leadership roles in various capacities in both her career and in the community. As a former Dental Practice Manager overseeing over seven geographically separate office locations, Jennifer has extensive operations experience in the areas of administrative support, insurance billing, accounts payable/receivable, regulatory compliance as well as financial and human resource management.
