Custodian I, Golden Rain Foundation Rossmoor, Walnut Creek About Rossmoor Rossmoor Walnut Creek is a nationally recognized community for active seniors who are 55 and older. With nearly 10,000 residents in 6,700 homes on 2,000 acres, Rossmoor is a beautiful, serene enclave about 25 miles east of San Francisco. Offering a vast array of activities, residents are inspired to create, enjoy, learn and participate in activities and sports that they never had time to learn or engage in when they were younger. With two golf courses, four swimming pools, tennis, pickleball, lawn bowling and numerous other activities, it is never dull in Rossmoor. Activity studios include dedicated facilities for art, ceramics, lapidary, sewing, and woodworking. Rossmoor also operates its own movie theater, TV station and weekly newspaper. There are more than 200 clubs in Rossmoor for every interest. Numerous clubhouses hosted 22,000 events and meetings on campus in 2019. This position is responsible for the custodial maintenance of the assigned clubhouses or other facilities inside the gated senior residential community of Rossmoor Walnut Creek. This is a union position (Laborers’ Local 324 AFL-CIO) with full medical benefits and retirement plan. Duties and Responsibilities: Under general supervision this position maintains the environment of GRF Clubhouses and adjacent areas. Duties include and are not limited to: • Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, vacuuming clubhouse rooms; • Stripping and waxing floor; • Bonnet buffing and extracting carped areas; • Polishing furniture, chrome and woodwork; • Emptying and cleaning waste receptacles; • Disinfecting restrooms, showers, changing areas and replenishing supplies; • Setting up and taking down chairs, tables and risers as required; Qualifications: • High school graduation, GED or other recognized equivalent; • Three years of knowledge and experience of day to day custodial policies and procedures; • Knowledge of the various industrial chemicals used in cleaning and disinfecting; • Ability to use custodial equipment effectively and safely; • Able to follow established policies, procedures and standards to maintain Foundation facilities; • Physical ability to stack tables, chairs and risers in support of reservation set-up for events; • Must be a true team player and interact appropriately with seniors, visitors, and guests; • Possess excellent customer service skills while dealing with residents and co-workers, able to respond quickly and effectively to resident requests; • Flexibility in work days and hours. Audio-Visual Technician Opportunity: • Within six months of hire can train-up to meet the audio-visual technician requirements to hook up sound systems, lap top computers to projector, microphones to mixers; accurately complete board meetings set-up; loop speakers; show movies at theater; set-up and manage theater connection on stage at Peacock Hall; and trouble shoot A/V equipment. Additional Requirements: • Clean and valid California driver license and satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment. • Documentation to meet the Dept. of Homeland Security requirements confirming identity and right to work in the United States. • Must satisfactorily pass pre-employment physical, PCA and drug test. Previous employment must be verifiable. This is a shift position with variable days off. This is a union position (Laborers’ Local 324 AFL-CIO).
