Wiggle Bicycles is looking for a bicycle mechanic with a minimum of 2 years experience to join our team of bike-lovers. Full or part-time positions will be considered. Trade school certification (Barnetts, UBI etc) is a plus. SHOP OVERVIEW The primary focus of our shop is high-quality bike repairs where safety is central. The shop sells new bikes as well as refurbished bikes of different makes. We also do plenty of custom builds We hold ourselves to a very high standard and have built a long-standing reputation for providing high-quality and reliable service to our service customers as well as to new bike-owners. We share the love of bikes with our community and Wiggle Bicycles mechanics get the opportunity to work on and get creative with a whole range of bikes, varying from well-loved commuters, road and mountain wonder bikes and everything in between. Workload and service board are often filled to the brim during these Covid days. Our team of mechanics enjoy listening to tunes whilst wrenching and working in a fast-paced and detail-orientated environment. POSITION OVERVIEW Wrenching in the shop. Friendly and effective public facing with customers. An ideal mechanic and candidate is: - Proactive - Problem-solving - Enjoys fixing things - Gets a sense of pride when returning a customer’s bike in great working shape - Has Spotify DJ skills Responsibilities include - but are not limited: - Perform repairs as described by the service orders - Work autonomously whenever possible - Friendly interaction with public and staff - Assist during intake process - Give clients best value for the dollar - Keeping an all-round positive attitude Qualifications: - At least two years' experience in a bike shop. More is always a bonus. - Strong working knowledge of all aspects of traditional bike repair. - The ability to take initiative and create solutions to problems you haven't seen before (mechanical or otherwise). - Must like Unicorns and Rainbows Compensation is commensurate with experience. Our starting rate for an inexperienced mechanic is $18/hr with potential to earn $25/hr or more depending on your motivation and level of skill.
