WELLESLEY, MA — New restaurant alert: Linden Street has a new restaurant opening this week with familiar owners.
Wellesley Tavern is set to open at its 165 Linden Street location on March 10. The new restaurant is replacing Door No. 7 which was there for two years before the COVID-19 pandemic shut it down. Wellesley Tavern's owners, Laura and John Wolfe, also owned Door No. 7. The Wolfe's also own popular Wellesley restaurant The Cottage and two Newburyport restaurants: The Poynt and Brick and Ash.
Wellesley Tavern is billed as a more accessible and family-friendly concept. Featuring chef Andrew Swanson, the tavern's menu will bring "a modern take on a Wellesley tradition." From chicken pot pies and short braised ribs to sushi and burgers, the tavern has a wide-ranging menu.
The restaurant website says it will open for lunch and dinner, takeout and delivery. Wellesley Tavern's sister restaurant, The Cottage, is only open for takeout but planning a reopening soon. Hours for Wellesley Tavern are daily from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
