15 year + Early Childhood Educator (in the process of becoming licensed) offering lower cost full time learning/experiences (1250.00 a month) for families of children ages 2yrs-5yrs. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Learning and Arts & Literature. I also have a background in Nursing. I am current on CPR/First Aid, have a food handler's card, have all required STARS hours for WA State. A majority of my teaching background is in Reggio Emilia. I believe in strong anti-bias curriculum, and connecting with community. I have had close Native American friends come in and teach about their culture(s), and have also strongly encouraged parents to come in and guest speak about their cultural backgrounds as well as professional backgrounds. There is community meeting time (where we sing a good morning song, do calendar time, talk about our feelings, and then what we are learning about). I believe that teaching and learning are both HANDS ON as far as experience goes, I want my students to make meaningful learning and connections from their time at school. I will take children on field trips to the beach, the zoo, the park (this is difficult to do in most preschool centers), retirement centers, the library, have the Reptile Man visit (he is a super great human). Children will be encouraged to be a part of helping plant/harvest fruits and vegetables that we will add to meals we prepare together. We will do yoga, play guitar, paint, work with clay and other mediums. I will provide childcare one Friday night a month (from 6pm-10pm) for parents to enjoy a night out, at no additional cost. There are two students enrolled already (ages 5 and 3) and we are excited to invite 5 more to join us My family and I are extremely COVID conscious and there will be temperature taking in the morning at sign in, as well as mask wearing throughout the day by myself, I will be encouraging children to do this during inside time as well).
