PATCHOGUE, NY —Blue Point Brewing is highlighting local women-led businesses in honor of International Women's Day. The Patchogue brewery is organizing a week-long scavenger hunt that asks participants to visit eight of 25 women-led small businesses from Babylon to Port Jefferson. The scavenger hunt runs Sunday, March 7th through the 13th. The women-run businesses will offer discounts to participants, who just have to stop into eight of the businesses during the week to be eligible for a free pint glass and pint of beer at the brewery. A representative for Blue Point says their company is also led by a woman, general manager Carrie Shafir, and the female employees collaborated to create a new chamomile honey wheat beer they dubbed "Nancy Brew" as part of the event.
