PATCHOGUE, NY — After less than two years in business, a Patchogue bakery announced it will be closing this month. Hometown Bakery wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday that the local location on 16 Havens Avenue will be shutting down for good. "We are so very sad to announce that the Patchogue location will be closed effective today," the post read. "Sadly with everything going on in the world, it has been difficult to pick up momentum at this location." The business opened the bakery at the former cafe Artisan Kaiser in Patchogue's New Village complex in Oct. 2019, expanding from its original Centerport location. In addition to the original location, the business will still continue to sell its fresh bakery items at farmers markets over the summer. "We want to thank each and every one of our customers who have come in to support us. We also want to thank the amazing staff," the owner, Danna, wrote. "Thank you again. We love you all."
