Now #BostonBakesFeta: Inspired by this tasty trend, the Greek International Food Market is challenging Bostonians to create their own unique dishes with this classic Mediterranean cheese. Whether in a shrimp entree, a sweet and savory dessert, or spinach pie, the possibilities are endless and go far beyond the original pasta entrée. Individuals will be recognized for forging new feta frontiers. The Greek International Food Market will reward one creative “chef” with $100 of feta products. To be considered, they must post their photo or videos, along with their recipes on Instagram by April 1, 2021 and tag @greekinternational. The market will share favorites (based on creativity and taste) and announce a winner by April 5. “We can’t wait to build on the feta movement with our customers’ creations,” said Katerina Iliades, owner. “Since childhood, this cheese has been one of my favorite foods. I’m excited to sample some delicious new dishes.” Greek foodies can find multiple varieties of loose feta at the market, along with quality imported products ranging from olive oils to dried herbs and spices. They are encouraged to add their own spin to whatever they invent––perhaps some roasted red peppers or eggplant, chiles for a bit of heat, or kalamata olives for an extra salty punch.
