Description

Tour of the “Block of Knowledge” with Cultural Developer Gene Kansas Constructed in 1910, Constellations was designed by famed Atlanta architect Neel Reid and a stunning example of early 20th Century architecture. Constellations honors the world-renowned history of Sweet Auburn, while providing a relaxed, professional environment for thinkers, writers, foundations, non-profits, purpose-driven companies, historians, students, educators, advocates, and lovers of life — to live their dreams and fulfill their missions. Built in 1912, 145 Auburn Avenue has been home to a wide variety of businesses including the longest-running African American daily newspaper in our country’s history — the Atlanta Daily World and now Refuge Coffee Co., which provides leadership and job training to Atlanta’s refugee community. The award-winning rehabilitation and adaptive use projects have been recognized by the National Trust, Georgia Trust, the Atlanta Preservation Center, and the Atlanta Urban Design Commission. Come see what’s possible when you conserve, protect, and care for history and culture. Join us for a coffee, tour, and free pass for a day of co-working at Constellations! Limited to 10 guests. Masks required. To enjoy this tour virtually, click here.
