Press release from the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce : 03/04/2021 We have been informed by your natural gas supplier that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved an increase in transmission fees which will result in an increase in your current contract rate by up to $0.03 per therm. The CQI Associates staff are working with your supplier to assess the cost impact to be sure the increase is calculated properly based on the ruling.   Unfortunately, this is a "regulatory change-in-law" permitted by the Agreement signed with your current supplier. This cost increase should apply to all natural gas customers with services provided by the utility or a third party supplier. The order was granted by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission based on a filing from the Columbia Gas Transmission pipeline service as a General Rate Case – Docket Number RP20-1060. Columbia Gas Transmission is a natural gas pipeline that transports gas from the Gulf of Mexico to Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia and New York. The Columbia Gas Transmission pipeline service is owned by TransCanada Corporation.
