Description
Whether you are by the pool, lake, ocean or even your own bathtub, it's important to be a confident swimmer, but unfortunately not everyone is. Learn the skills to save a life by getting trained to be a lifeguard--get certified with the Summit Area YMCA, be trained by experienced instructors and gain the confidence you need to be able to save someone struggling in the water, and start working at the Y!
Must be available to work from May - September. Year round employment may be available.
This is an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course and is for current Summit Area YMCA and Berkeley Heights Community Pool at the Y staff or future employees. Participants must be able to accomplish the ARC Lifeguarding Pre-Test.
Attendance is required for ALL classes:
Saturday, March 20TIME: 12PM-10PMSunday, March 21TIME: 12PM-10PMSaturday, March 27TIME: 12PM-10PMCOST FOR MEMBERS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS: $250
Course Information: Must Complete All1. You will need to complete the online American Red Cross Lifeguarding Pre-work. This must be completed before March 20th and is approximately 6-7 hours of online material.2. Complete and pass the American Red Cross Swimming Pre-Test. This will be completed on March 20th at the first day of the class.3. By enrolling and successfully completing this course, you will be eligible for an interview for an aquatics position at the YMCA
