Motorcycle Range Aid Help Wanted – Flex Weekends Fairfield (Jefferson St. Park & Ride, off exit 46 Merrit Pkwy) An ideal P/T job for a college student or someone who wants to make some easy money on selected weekends. Flexible schedule – you sign up for the days you want to work. Job Description • Prepare and maintain range used during motorcycle safety classes—This involves setting up cones and clearing debris prior to the start of each exercise • Prepare motorcycles used for instruction—This involves using a portable fuel pump to fill up the motorcycles at the end of classes, wiping grips and seats, and occasionally pushing the 125cc motorcycles a short distance • Fill out paperwork—The range aid fills keeps track of the time exercises begin, end, and which students completed the exercise. COVID-19 safety The range aid does not come into close contact with anyone. He or she is a self-sufficient worker and is able to stay very distanced from everyone while completing the required tasks. Gloves must be worn when handling cones and motorcycles. All range aid activities are outdoors, rain or shine. Requirements You…...are physically fit…can read and understand a layout map and be able to place cones on painted markings quickly between range riding exercises.…are willing and able to operate a portable (hand crank) fuel pump …will push a broom and pick up garbage even if you aren’t asked to …are somewhat interested in motorcycles … are always prompt and courteous…are 18 years of age or older…are a legal US resident…have a clean record and are willing to undergo a state background check Hours and Pay Work hours are usually 9am to 4pm on selected Saturdays and/or Sundays, or when the class is over. Most often, the work is finished well before 5pm—sometimes as early at 1pm. The job pays $80 per day regardless of how many hours it takes to complete the class. Payroll is through the State of CT.
