DOWNINGTOWN, PA — A man who pleaded guilty to indecent assaults of two women on the R.G. Struble hike-and-bike trail in Downingtown was today sentenced in Chester County District court.
Rickey Endy, 61, of Downingtown, was sentenced to 11½ to 23 months in Chester County Prison for assaulting two women on the Struble Trail in 2019. The defendant had pleaded guilty in October 2020 to two counts of indecent assault, according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
On May 19, 2019, Downingtown police responded to a report of a woman who was assaulted as she jogged on the Struble Trail. Authorities reported the victim said a man riding a bike grabbed her buttocks and said, "Hey, Baby."
As police spoke to the first victim, a man matching the victim's description rode past on a bike, police reported.
A second victim was running behind him and said that he also had assaulted her. Police reported they apprehended the defendant in Kardon Park, where the Struble Trail ends.
A witness then reported that she had seen the defendant attempt to grab two other women's buttocks along the trail, the Chester County District Attorney's Office report said.
Downingtown Police investigated the case and Stefanie Friedman was the prosecutor.
