CNBC reported that 33 percent of Americans considered getting a pet due to social distancing requirements. This number varied by age group, with 50 percent of millennials, 33 percent of Gen X, and 25 percent of Baby Boomers considering adoption or fostering, CNBC reported.
According to The Star Tribune, the trend has surprisingly spiked the earnings of Patterson Cos.
The saw a 21 percent increase in its quarterly earnings, the Star Tribune reported. The dental supplies company has an animal business as well, which is what boosted earnings.
