CHICAGO — Two people were killed and five others were injured in a two-vehicle crash that took place Wednesday night in the Far South neighborhood of Scottsdale, police said. Anna Zendejo, 53, Aurora, and an 86-year-old man whose identity has not been released by police as of Thursday were killed in the accident, which took place just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The 86-year-old man was a passenger in a Ford Explorer while Zendejo was in a Lincoln Aviator when the accident occurred, the Chicago Tribune reported. The two people were pronounced dead at local hospitals while five other people — including a six-year-old boy were injured in the crash. Police told the Tribune that a 25-year-old woman was cited for driving the Aviator at a high rate of speed before the accident occurred. The driver of the Explorer was traveling north on Pulaski Road at around 9:25 p.m. when he attempted to make a left turn onto 85th Street, police said. The Aviator was traveling south on Pulaski when it struck the passenger side of the Explorer. Five people in the Aviator including the driver and the young boy were in the vehicle at the time. The 6-year-old was taken to Comer Children's Hospital with minor injuries. The Tribune reported that a 20-year-old man sustained a broken arm in the accident while a 32-year-old man and a 19-year-old man suffered minor injuries. All three were treated at local hospitals. At least six ambulances were sent to the scene of the accident, the Tribune reported.
