Description
Wildlife rehabber with rabies vector license taking in orphaned & injured wildlife: squirrels, opossums, raccoons, skunks, foxes, etc. It's baby season and mommas are on the move.
If you see a opossum on the road, please reach out so we can check for babies in her pouch.
If you are not in the NE Ohio area, please respond with your location and I'll provide you with the contact info of the licensed rehabber in your area.
Please do not attempt to feed orphaned wildlife, often it can do more harm than good.
Also, do not touch bats, baby raccoons, etc... They can carry rabies despite not having immediately recognizable symptoms. If you discover a bat in your home, you need to immediately seek treatment for rabies even if you do not notice a bite mark. Bites can and do, often, go unnoticed. Do not handle baby animals that are rabies vector species - if you do so without gloves, your local wildlife officer is required to put the animal down to be checked for rabies.
