BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham Police Department detectives are conducting a robbery investigation, after The Korner Kupboard at 401 Lawson Road was robbed March 1 around 8 p.m.. Detectives request assistance from the public in identifying the suspect in the video posted to social media Wednesday: (1/4) #HELP: Do you recognize the suspect in this armed robbery? Viewer discretion is advised. The #robbery occurred March 1st at Korner Kupboard on Lawson Rd. The #suspect entered the store and held the store clerk at gunpoint. pic.twitter.com/paYbm6NM0e— Bhampolice (@BhamPolice) March 3, 2021 In the video, the suspect enters the store and holds the store clerk at gunpoint. The suspect then demands money from the register and obtains an unknown amount of cash from the register. During the robbery a physical altercation ensued between the suspect and the clerk. The suspect shot the clerk and fled the scene on foot. The clerk's injuries were not life-threatening. The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect arrived at the store in a white sedan with tinted windows.
