Volunteers Needed to Test a New Diabetes Glucose Meter

Jobs

Sante Fe Drive near Hwy 5, Encinitas CA

Description

We are testing a new Blood Glucose Meter for monitoring diabetes in Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetics. We are looking for volunteers to come to our test site and allow us to test your blood glucose level using this NEW Blood Glucose Meter. What will happen? When you call to schedule an appointment we will ask you a few background questions and schedule a time for you to come in. When you arrive you will be asked to read and complete a form telling you what we are doing. We will then have a medical professional perform a "finger stick" on your hand and test the drop of blood. When the above are completed we will have a phlebotomist on site that will collect a little more blood for your finger and will collect blood from your arm. (Blood Draw) These two samples will be tested again using the NEW Blood Glucose Meter. Plus the samples will be tested using another meter already approved. The samples will then be sent to a laboratory were they will again be tested using another method for testing for Glucose. Why are we doing all this? We are trying to compare the results obtained with the NEW device with the results obtained with other devices already approved and in us at various clinics and hospitals. Where and When is this being done? We will be in Encinitas, CA on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 10-3:30 doing testing. Compensation? After the paperwork, testing and blood draw is completed you will be able to leave. For volunteering to participate you will be paid $50.00 (Note: the whole process should take about 30 minutes.) Who can participate? We are looking for Type 1 Diabetics, Type 2 Diabetics and Non-Diabetics. Please Note: If you participate you must wear a mask at all times. Social distancing is and will be required while you are waiting. (Chairs will be provided for waiting.) If you are suffering from any symptoms of illness or have any symptoms of COVID-19 please do not come. (We will be doing this each week and will reschedule for a later date.) If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks please do not come. (Again, once you have received a NEGATIVE test we can then schedule you at a later date.) If there are any questions you can call us at the number below or email us. If you would like to participate please call or email us. Thank You
