Our government is, and has been, spending too much money. Period. It's been going on for decades, but has gotten particularly bad in the last 15 - 20 years. They are simply spending more of our money than they have a right to spend. If we ran our household budgets like the Congress runs our government spending, we'd be bankrupted many times over. But they think this country can't be bankrupted, because they can just print more money. We used to have something to back up the VALUE of our money; GOLD. It was called 'The Gold Standard' The government gave up the "Gold Standard" back in the Nixon days. Now, our government has nothing to back up the money they print. The more they print, the more they are diluting the VALUE of our money They are literally printing money to pay our debts, and that money might as well be from a Monopoly game. Getting deeper and deeper into Debt, is the worst thing a "free enterprise country" can do..... Capitalism hates Debt. But a huge Debt is great for our politicians if they seek to turn America to Socialism. If we get too far in debt, our government can simply declare a 'national emergency' and take away your rights, your money, your savings, everything you have, in the name of "the greater good". Meaning; the government can get itself into as much financial trouble as they want to, then they can FORCE you to pay for it. That is where Socialism kicks in.... Total government control. They can walk in and take your house, your business, and anything else you have, and claim it's 'for The People'. It's past time to get a handle on Congress and their SPENDING. This latest so-called "Covid Stimulus Bill" is almost $2 TRILLION that we don't have. Going into DEBT even further. The biggest problem is, only 9% -- NINE PERCENT -- of that money is actually going to help people affected by the virus !! 91% of the spending is going to politician's "Pet Projects", wasteful 'pork barrel' spending !! Think about it this way: This latest stimulus package will actually put YOU farther into Debt by about $7000. How's that $1400 check looking now?? Feeling 'stimulated'? Here are some examples of STUPID SPENDING: How does a new bridge in New York for Chuck Schumer's constituents help the virus problem? How does a tunnel for commuters in San Francisco's Silicon Valley helping the virus problem ? What about "Gender Studies" in Pakistan ? What does that have to do with fighting a virus in America ??? This is the kind of shit we need to stop !! Congress controls the purse strings in our government. If we have a Congress that is engaged in out-of-control spending, we need to do something about it. And soon. Best thing I can think of at this point is term limits. Think that'll ever happen ??
