Job Title: Installer Location: Portland, OR Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), S125 FSA, Life and Disability Insurance Employment Type: Full Time Department: Service Summary The Installer plays a key role in the Services team and reports to Service Manager. The Installer is responsible for working as part of a team to ensure that installation projects are completed in a smooth and timely manner. The Installer must recognize that they are the public face of Environments, and must represent themselves with the upmost professionalism (both in appearance and demeanor) at all times, including on-site, off-site, and in company vehicles. Specific Roles and Responsibilities: The Installer will primarily be responsible for the following duties: • Working as part of an installation crew to ensure the smooth and timely completion of projects. • Performing installation work, including the assembly of desks, chairs, workstations, cubicles, and the like. • Performing job site clean-up, including the proper removal and disposal of all job waste and packaging. • Performing specialized service, warranty and repair work on customer product. • Assisting in resolution of installation project issues and punch list items under the direction of the Installation Manager and/or Installation Lead. • Delivering furniture orders to customer sites, including loading and unloading of the delivery vehicle, assembling orders, and obtaining customer sign-off. • Providing showroom support as needed. • Conducting product inventories/dispositions. • Performing other duties as assigned. Key Skills Required: The Installer must: • Understand mechanics and construction of commercial furniture; be skilled at fixing commercial furniture through repair, adjustments, parts replacement or touch-up. • Be able to accurately and consistently complete all necessary paperwork pertaining to installation projects. • Communicate clearly, concisely, and in a professional manner with co-workers, supervisors, and customers. • Have an exceptional customer service attitude and manner; communicate efficiently and effectively problems, solutions, costs and time frames. • Be able to work as part of a team with a quick and efficient pace. • Be dependable and reliable. • Possess a high level of attention to detail. • Be in good physical condition with good endurance and possess the ability to bend, squat, lift, twist, stretch, kneel during shifts that may last 10 hours or more in a day. Qualifications: • A minimum of 1 year experience installing commercial furniture or other relevant experience. • Possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle. • Possess or ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card. • Take pride in a job well done. Work Environment/Physical Demands: • This position operates primarily on a customer job site, which may be under construction, or in a warehouse environment. This position must be able to safely operate a forklift or other warehouse machinery. • Travel to and from job sites and the warehouse is required frequently, typically on a daily basis. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear; sit, stand, and walk; use hands, arms, and entire body for extended periods of time to reach, bend, squat, twist, kneel and frequently lift and/or move furniture up to 100 lbs. The employee must be able to safely operate all power tools, equipment, and service vans/trucks.
